Because it appears that overpopularized watch designs are repeated. except that the new design is an old design.
The PRX is based on watches from the 1970s, like earlier Tissot Seastar PRX models.
It also looks a lot like some of the most well-known integrated bracelets.
Stainless steel sports watches from luxury brands, like the Patek Philippe Nautilus and Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.
Even though the Tissot PRX Powermatic costs only $650, it still has a powerful 80-hour power reserve.
It also contains Powermatic movement, and a sporty, geometric design. These features make this watch stand out and draw attention.
Let’s take a look at the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80. We’ll be looking at the Powermatic 80 with the green dial.

What does PRX stand for?
The watch’s PRX designation, which stands for precise, robust, and X, refers to its 100-meter water resistance and 10 ATM atmospheric pressure rating.

Appearance
The appearance that made the Tissot PRX a hit back then is still very much alive today, with the only new feature being the dial color. But not in any color.

The PRX is water resistant to 100 meters thanks to its screw-down display case back, so it should be able to handle even more sporty activities.

The beat rate of the movement is 21,600 BPH. If they had increased the beat rate, the power reserve would have suffered as a result.
The Powermatic 80 has stainless steel bracelet with polished features that are installed with triple folding clasp with push buttons for safety.

To be honest, I don’t think this version is a great value for the price. Given the precious metals used.
Not meant to be an affordable automatic watch.
A drawback of the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 green dial watch
One minor flaw to consider with the Powermatic 80 movement is the difficulty in regulating such a movement.
The watch has a “high-tech escapement,” which essentially means the watch is controlled at the factory.
The movement’s free-sprung balance wheel, on the other hand, may make regulation difficult, even for intermediate watchmakers.
It’s best to take this movement to a skilled watchmaker.
Conclusion
More options are rarely negative, especially when the option is as nice as this one.
It is humbly decorated with a laser-engraved “waves of time” pattern that can be seen through the open case back.
The Tissot PRX is still an excellent modern take on vintage inspiration. On many entry-level automatics, an open case back isn’t necessary. especially if it would make the watch smaller.
However, since this will be many people’s first “nice” watch, giving them a look inside might be just what they need to get a true love of watches, which is always a good thing.
